Commemorative Trees
A commemorative tree is a gift that lasts over lifetimes.
The Broken Arrow Beautification Committee with the City of Broken Arrow Parks and Recreation has developed a simple way for family, friends, companies, churches and civic organizations to donate a tree or trees to be planted in one of our parks.
The donor can designate the part and the type of tree to be planted. A plaque will be placed next to the tree(s) and the donor will be provided location information for their planting. This is a gift that keeps giving season after season and a gift which can be enjoyed by the whole community. Donors can select the kind of tree they wish, shade, flowering or evergreen. A two inch diameter tree will be carefully planted by the Parks and Recreation division of the City and it is guaranteed to be maintained for a full three years. This will ensure the healthy start for a long life in Broken Arrow’s Green Grow program.
| The type of tree/shrub selected will be from a list of Oklahoma hardy species that include Ash, Redbud, Crepe Myrtle, Austrian Pine, Loblolly Pine, Chinese Pistache, Shumard Oak, Water Oak, Bald Cypress, American Holly, Kentucky Coffee Tree, and Shatung Maple. |
Trees ordered between January 1 and June 30 will be planted in the fall and trees ordered between July 1 and December 31 will be planted in the spring. The trees will have a three year guarantee. The city’s parks department will plant, maintenance and replace, if necessary, during that period. |

Chris Ohler, City Horticulturalist, and Getsy Gerber, Beautification Committee voulenteer and Vice President at Arvest, plant a commemorative tree at Neinhuis Park. |
