Broken Arrow’s successful volunteer Adopt A-Programs are administered by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. Currently 8 miles of Trails, 14 of 23 Parks and 27miles of 69 have been adopted by youth groups, schools, churches, homeowners associations, civic organizations and businesses.

The Chamber of Commerce’s Beautification Committee has undertaken a campaign to encourage greater participation in the Adopt-A Program by those who are interested in helping enhance the community’s image and beautification. The Committee’s objective is to have all Broken Arrow Parks adopted and all Broken Arrow core arterial roads adopted by the end of the year. The Beautification Committee is calling on:

Youth Groups to Adopt-A-Park.

Broken Arrow Schools to adopt the mile nearest to their School.

Broken Arrow Churches to adopt the mile nearest to their Church.

Homeowner Associations to adopt a mile bordering their neighborhood.

Civic Organizations to join in with a mile adoption.

Businesses to support the Chamber’s campaign by Adopting-A-Mile.

What’s involved?
  • Periodically (at least four times) during the year, collect, or have collected litter and trash from the adopted area.
  • Join the twice yearly TRASH BASH day for the adopted area.
  • Provide for the new city logo “Adopt” signs.

The City provides safety vests, gloves and trash bags for Adopt-A Programs.
