Commemorative Trees
A Commemorative Tree Program is also in its initial development stages. The template for design will be the program developed by St. Louis, which is dedicated to the reforestation, enhancement & development of our urban and community forests. A donor can be a contributing factor to the high quality of life that exists in our parks through the Urban Tree Program. Participants will have a commemorative plaque when they sponsor the planting of a tree. Their donation to the program will improve the quality of life for present and future generations by preserving and improving the natural scenic and recreation sites for all. Four parks were identified for commemorative plantings – Central, Country Aire, Haskell, and Nienhuis. The program would be run by the Parks and Recreation Department.
